Ethereum games remain at the top, though scaling solutions are common. Other ecosystems are also active, including Solana and Avalanche-based games.

Axie Infinity Prepares for Origins Season 4 – Axie Infinity announced Season 4 Origins is coming soon, boosting player counts with one of the central gaming events. In the meantime, Axie Infinity also promises mini-tournaments and e-sports events with a prize pool.

NFT minting remains a hot marketing tool for games, with exclusive collections serving as access tickets. The NFT trend gets a boost from Ordinals, a new tool to distribute collectibles. Ordinals are tied to specific Satoshi on the BTC network, or to parts of Ethereum. Unfortunately, ordinals are also causing congestion and high fees and there are questions whether it’s just a short-term trend or a permanent new Web3 feature.
