Sandbox (SAND) Token Rallies Ahead of Alpha Season 3

  • Steve Aoki avatar collection coming on July 27.
  • The Sandbox remains top metaverse land plot seller.

The Sandbox (SAND) is coming to the spotlight again as it plans the upcoming Season 3 for its alpha gameplay. The SAND token is also reaping benefits from the recent crypto market recovery. SAND rallied to $1.42, becoming one of the top gainers after the first mention of a new season on July 10.

The expected season rewards may benefit if SAND continues to rally. SAND remains one of the earliest and most liquid game tokens, which is not feeling pressure from sales as The Sandbox offers limited events and gameplay.

The SAND token is also returning as a speculative asset, possibly inviting more interest from the crypto community. With P2E tokens relatively weak, a SAND rally may offer higher returns to holders.

SAND never rallied to exorbitant levels, as the project was mostly conservative and concentrated on building. The metaverse game is one of the few with a decade in the making, adding SAND and rewards in 2021.

The Sandbox Offers New Avatar Series

The Sandbox stands out for its regular partnerships and themed avatar collections. The latest mint of 3,333 avatars comes from digital artist Steve Aoki, launching his Aokiverse imagery in the Sandbox metaverse. The public mint is expected on July 27.

The avatars will have utility within the game and enhance the potential to earn SAND.

Previously, the Sandbox offered Voxels avatars and Pingu-themed characters. The Sandbox also remains the most active virtual world, almost doubling the volume traded in the past 24 hours. The game’s land plots manage to keep a floor price of 1.97 ETH, with the highest last sale at 3.6M SAND. The Sandbox NFT also includes decorative items for developing land plots.

The Sandbox also follows a recent recovery of Decentraland (MANA), the other large virtual world specializing in limited events and gatherings. MANA extended its gains, closing in on the $1 level again, after adding more than 8% in a day.
