Third Web Introduces Token-Bound Accounts for Extended NFT Ownership

Token-Bound Accounts tie a user’s identity to an NFT and may extend ownership with composable items.
  • Third Web offers to bring a new type of NFT with composable features.
  • NFT airdrops will become a way to hold a wider inventory for Web3 gamers.
  • Third Web targets developers with NFT, gaming, and DAO and governance tools.

Third Web, one of the prominent sources of Web3 tools and packages, will bring a new form of NFT ownership. The new Token-Bound Accounts will link an NFT and use it as a digital identity. This means an NFT record can be tied to more ownership, for instance of fungible tokens.

The technology is similar to Soul Tokens, which connect to the user’s identity. Web3 projects and games often use NFT in the form of game passes, founders’ NFT or other Genesis collections as central for gaining future benefits in the game. Designating one NFT as the user identity may boost rarity, and encourage holding and retain users.

Third Web Potentially Brings Composable NFT

The Token-Based Account allows for one NFT to be connected to a smart contract, and thus hold additional assets. In gaming, such an NFT can be linked to other items. Some of the NFT may become composable, such as a playable hero and their armor and weapons.

Third Web has published a detailed guide on how to onboard users with a Token-Based Account (TBA). Games can start the process through an airdrop, then use NFT ownership to carry the users’ inventory or additional assets held in the game. Third Web offers a ready-made NFT drop contract to start the process.

Recently, Third Web also boosted its resources for NFT airdrops on any blockchain that is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). NFT free mints or airdrops are turning into a sustainable tool for Web3 onboarding.

Each of those NFT can be attached to its own smart contract, making secure ownership possible even with no new wallet creation. The airdrop and minting tool will also contain creator’s fee features for OpenSea listings.

Third Web remains focused on developers, with tools to access the blockchain in an app-friendly way.

Third Web is also a source of partnerships and training for Web3. The project offers game building, NFT tools, as well as DAO and governance tools.
