Dark Country Sets Out Invitations for Prize-Driven Tournament

Dark Country offers starter packs of NFT cards, as well as a lively secondary market on Atomic Hub for WAX blockchain players.
  • Dark Country mixes a metaverse with PvP card-based battles.
  • The game offers full ownership and rent-to-earn opportunities.
  • Dark Country will work to become a multi-chain game, also targeting traditional gaming markets.

Dark Country takes up the successful model of Web2 card games and expands it as a Web3 feature. Beyond a free-to-play option, Dark Country brings a multi-chain NFT game, with its main launch on WAX and Ethereum, but also compatible with EOS and TRON for additional players.

Dark Country is building up its Web3 model based on NFT, as well as e-sports. An upcoming tournament for WAX-based players will also distribute a reward pool. Currently, the game is running one of its live tournament events, with three days more to join for all players.

Dark Country also has elements of a horror-style game with American Gothic art. The game has been around for a year, gaining visibility and followers. The game’s main goal is to defeat the opponent in arena-like battles, where players use the best possible skill cards.

Dark Country Offers a Large Prize Pool

Dark Country has drawn in enough players to build up a significant prize pool and become sustainable. Like Gods Unchained and other similar card games, Dark Country has built up a fanbase, claiming more than $1M in secondary trading volumes.

The game also builds engagement though a simulated economy, where every player builds up their town. Resources from the town, as well as buildings, are then used to build up card stats and upgrade playable heroes.

All of the assets in Dark Country are fully controlled by the player and can potentially bring revenue as own-to-earn. Land plots and buildings, as well as NFT cards, can be rented out to other players. Battles in single mode or in teams are also a source of earnings.

Dark Country has set goals to expand to additional blockchains, but also target the traditional gaming market. In terms of sustainability and a simulated economy, the game also joins the list of civilization-building features, with the potential for long-term sustainability. Card packs for the game are available through Atomic Hub, with monster packs at $12.47. The game is available for download and plans a full mobile launch in 2023.
