Town Star lined up among the most widely used P2E games on the Gala Games ecosystem. The game has added a new craftable item and a new build, offering a usage for in-game resources.
Town Star is the flagship title on Gala Games, and one of the first sandbox-type games to be completed. The game also had special nodes that produced TOWN. Currently, the game’s P2E economy has changed, with in-game points rewarded and a slower TOWN issuance schedule. So far, the Town Star team has not issued a schedule on returning to regular TOWN payments for P2E players.
TOWN remains an important asset for the game’s fortunes, and is one of the earlier P2E tokens to land on the market. Along with GALA, the assets are some of the most liquid P2E tokens. On September 2, the token was listed on LBank, adding another source of centralized liquidity.
TOWN peaked above $2.14 at the end of 2021, but is now trading at $0.02. GALA, the other in-game token used for node operation, is more stable at around $0.05-$0.06. TOWN is held in 15,445 addresses and is still on Ethereum, while Gala Games attempts to launch an additional blockchain.
Town Star Redirects TOWN for In-Game Items
Town Star also built one of the most active NFT trading spots, with 24.5K in ETH changing hands. The game gave way to other sandbox-type and metaverse games with the goal of building and producing.
The NFT items within the game were important for additional gains and advantages. Players are encouraged to use items tied to an NFT, while also holding TOWN and GALA tokens in their wallets. TownStar remains a free-to-play game, but more involved players can leverage their Web3 ownership to make advancements, add new NFT items or tokens.
The game’s goal is to revert most TOWN for in-game tasks and buying gems and other items. Gala Games is attempting to push some of its Web3 games to regular game download platforms, possibly trying to distance itself from speculative trading.
