Crabada Switches Off CRA Token Staking for New Deposits

Crabada will pay out the last CRA staking rewards until all terms are finished, but with no new deposits.
  • Crabada is removing most of its DeFi elements, instead focusing on the game economy.
  • Equipment crafting is taking off, with players competing to craft the best set.
  • Crabada is regrowing its player base, with more than 2K daily engaged users.

Crabada continues to dismantle its previous GameFi elements, this time removing CRA token staking. This marks the shift of Crabada to win-to-earn gaming, where tournaments and ranking are rewarded with items. The game’s tokenization is taking a backseat, after retiring TUS as the in-game reward token, and replacing it with a new asset, GUS.

No new CRA staking will be accepted, and current locked CRA will produce rewards only until the end of their term. The removal of new staking also follows the decommission of Crab Amulet (CRAM) tokens, which were also a form of staking. The game now encourages more value to return in the game, in the form of buying items and equipment.

There are many spending mechanics, including basic food and superfoods to keep crabs powered up for battle.

Crabada Focuses on Equipment Advantage

After a few months where Crab breeding was a top activity, the game is now shifting toward the crafting of weapons. The available Crab NFT can be decayed to receive additional resources to craft armor and attack weapons.

Weapons are now the main source of advantage in arena battles, though the same as crabs not all equipment sets have the same qualities.

The new game mode, mixing arena, battle mode and a daily lucky draw, are also keeping up the level of users. Crabada now brings in a bit more than 2K users per day, still below its peak activity. But this time, game engagement is with real persons, while previous peak numbers also reflected a bot problem.

Additionally, Crabada rewards are shifted to top players, who also receive USDC prizes. Each week, the arena challenge changes to give advantage to some groups of crab owners and shift the competition.

The game’s marketplace also remains active, especially after the addition of equipment, as well as Pearls and other in-game items such as food and Rubies.

Players now compete to mint more resources and reach the higher rankings for more reliable rewards, but also for personal achievement, selecting from the best mix of crabs, food and equipment.
