Animoca Brands, the play to earn and blockchain investment company with one of the largest portfolios, warns about abuse of its brand. The company behind The Sandbox warned about attempted sales of a faked token bearing a misleading name.
The token, named “Animoca Brands Metaverse”, has appeared on Etherscan and on UniSwap V2, potentially inviting sales. The token has only 53 holders and no broad attempt has been made to propagate it and scam users. There are also only 83 transfers, signaling for limited trading. Nevertheless, Animoca Brands reacted to protect its potential players from owning a worthless asset.
Animoca Brands urged users to only visit the official links for legitimate games, NFTs and token sales.
Avoid Buying Copycat NFTs
One of the big problems for The Sandbox is its numerous NFT offerings. The game is at the top for land sales. However, copycat NFT items are always a problem.
Only verified accounts are reliable, and it is especially risky to buy items or tokens from Discord chats or other personal messages.
Animoca Brands Subsidiary Lists Token on Huobi Exchange
Gamee, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, recently listed its GMEE token on the Huobi exchange.
GMEE now has access to one of the major hubs for cryptocurrency trading in Southeast Asia. This move will ensure significant liquidity and adoption of GMEE when the game launches and rewards start getting distributed.
Gamee is one of the busiest play to earn platforms, claiming over 40M users globally. The GMEE token is especially selected as an asset to reward skillful gameplay and engagement.
GMEE traded around $0.14, bouncing off all-time lows in the past few weeks. GMEE has peaked above $0.65 and has the potential to revisit its highs, especially after a listing to a high-liquidity exchange.
Recently, Binance Labs announced a $1.5M strategic investment in the Gamee environment.
GMEE still depends mostly on decentralized exchanges, and listing on major trading platforms may significantly boost the token, to follow the exposure of SAND and other play to earn assets.
