Blocklete Golf offers a skills-based game with simulated physics, where players choose settings to perform a targeted golf shot. The product also has features of nostalgic arcade games, with the added feature of NFT ownership. Players pick one of the many playable avatar Golfers to represent them in the game.
Blocklete games is one of the projects with a long-time presence on social media, having launched in 2010. The shift to Flow and a mobile app as a P2E game happened during the blockchain game boom after 2020. Now, the game is trending again as it tries to build up a larger player base.
Blocklete has also been selling more Golfer NFT, similar to move-to-earn apps growing their user base with Sneaker NFT.
The Blocklete golfers are also listed on OpenSea, with some of the more accurate ones listed at 2.07 ETH equivalent. Players have also noted that winning tournaments may hinge on having a high-grade NFT.
Blocklete Golf Onboards Traditional Players
Blocklete Golf recently updated its mobile app, available on Google Play. The app still has limited downloads, with some negative initial reviews on the difficulty of creating an account.
Blocklete Golf uses the relatively unknown Flow ecosystem, though its NFT are also sold for ETH or by debit card. The current beta version is still solving issues with account creation, per user reviews. The game’s latest version is relatively recent, with calls to repair bugs.
Still, the game aims to bring in traditional players that are used to similar semi-idle apps. The ability to purchase assets without a crypto wallet is also a shift to Web3 techniques to ensure ownership without initial crypto asset purchases. The game still uses the Blockto wallet on the Flow blockchain for ownership.
Blocklete Golf is turning into an actively visited game, which is expanding its social media presence. The game has been running short-term weekend tournaments for a while now, though with a relatively low prize of $50.
