MetaWars is getting closer to a playable version with a demo coming in weeks.
The game has already distributed Planet NFT with monthly passive income since 2023.
MetaWars will allow players to organize teams of NFT Mecha Warriors.
MetaWars, a game that held its NFT launch in Q3, 2022, is now preparing to showcase its main tech in a playable preview. MetaWars aims for an ambitious 3D world of powerful robots, and is now in the process of recruiting early players.
The earliest testable demo will be launched on a lottery principle, with an element of luck in joining the early test. MetaWars will bring a semi-realistic rendering, with futuristic robots set in a maze-like world, with arena features.
The game is still in the NFT stage, encouraging the holders of Planets to wait for the actual game launch while accruing passive rewards. The Robots are also getting special attention in bringing new designs to life.
Planets will also have special functions in the game, with 3,505 NFT minted and 1,109 reported owners. Currently, most of the MetaArena planets are being held closely in expectation of the game and metaverse launch, hence the limited NFT trading. The overall idea of MetaArena is to turn the NFT into a source of in-game progress and powers.
MetaWars Encourages Long-Term NFT Ownership
Every month, holders of NFT Planets will also receive MGOD token rewards. Approaching the period, each NFT owner must hold their Planet in a user-controlled wallet, taking it off any marketplaces. After a monthly snapshot, the monthly rewards will be distributed.
The game will also include resource gameplay, which hinges on Planet ownership. One of the goals will be to create a team of Mecha Warriors to engage in the game’s battle mode. Players can also earn WARS tokens and stake them for rewards in GAM tokens. The double-token model is also used for upgrading in the game.
At this early stage, MetaWars offers some forms of Web3 ownership, but is still not a game with positive net earnings. However, the project is partnering with other Web3 hubs and may offer short-term events, early access or other benefits. The game is accessible through the IguVerse app, a multi-blockchain platform that offers access and builds up new tools for adopting Web3.
