- Mines of Dalarnia to reinvent its game as free-to-play and focus on marketing and onboarding new users.
- The game will add PvP battles, as well as boss fights in multiplayer mode.
- Mines of Dalarnia to offer special missions only to NFT holders.
Mines of Dalarnia is preparing for the new year with a recently updated roadmap. In the past year, Mines of Dalarnia was one of the closely watched games, which managed to launch and improve its main dungeon-based gameplay.
Mines of Dalarnia spent a long period in the NFT stage, where its Mining Apes were the main focus. After that, the game released two versions and tried to battle the effects of the bear market.
A few days ago, Mines of Dalarnia also closed one of its regular maintenance periods, with minor updates to the game.
After the maintenance, Mines of Dalarnia still draws in around 100 players per day, while aiming to expand its reach. The actual game had a slower start compared to the hype around the initial collection of NFT.
Mines of Dalarnia Shifts to Free-to-Play
The biggest change in 2023 will turn Mines of Dalarnia into free-to-play dungeon game. Mines of Dalarnia wants an easier onboarding process to boost adoption.
After the initial launch, Mines of Dalarnia required an upfront investment in Apes and Pickaxes, to be able to access the dungeons productively. However, the early players were not happy with the P2E balance.
For Ape Holders, the game also wants to grant better returns, hence the introduction of special quests available only to NFT holders. For all others, there will be a special onboarding campaign to reach traditional gamers. In Q2, the game will also add boss fights and PvP arena mode.
Mines of Dalarnia will also keep some of its activities off the blockchain for speed and convenience. Another new element to the game will be consumables, special in-game items to boost mining performance.
Mines of Dalarnia also plans to bring a lounge to select teams for multiplayer mode. Leaderboards and tournaments will also arrive to the game. Mines of Dalarnia tries to become a more popular game as its P2E model is not as sustainable, especially with DAR tokens trading at $0.12 down from a peak above $4.
