Axie Infinity (AXS) started a journey of rebuilding its reward system, with the immediate goal of salvaging the price of Smooth Love Potion (SLP). The news of a new reward schedule was followed by a rally for SLP.
SLP market prices moved up by more than 31% to $0.014, breaking above a penny for the first time in weeks. The upward move arrived at a time when SLP was expected to sink even more.
AXS also received a boost to $69.89, following the overall recovery of play to earn assets.
Axie Infinity Season 20 Coming Soon
The Axie Infinity team has not set an exact date for the launch of Season 20. The long-awaited event has helped boost AXS prices from their lows in the past week.
There are some speculations on social media that Season 20 may arrive as early as February 8, though no official announcement from the game itself.
Season 20 will have a major difference in zero rewards for Adventure mode or PvE. Arena rewards in PVP will also be reduced. To boost the usage of weaker Axie characters, energy levels will become more accessible.
AXS Trending Again
Despite its setbacks, the Axie Infinity gaming universe remains one of the most active in terms of both players and trading.
SLP and AXS remain a staple for Asian cryptocurrency trading, as the game is still a source of significant income for some regions.
AXS is also a top gainer among play to earn assets, adding 34% to its price in the past week. But in terms of market capitalization, AXS is now the third-largest play to earn token after getting surpassed by The Sandbox (SAND).
Axie Infinity player numbers may go up with the launch of Season 20. Currently, activity is relatively low at around 50,000 players per day. Axie gameplay has been displaced by Uplands, gaining 57,000 players after a recent map extension metaverse plot sale.
