Benji Bananas saw a spike in activity after reaching a long-awaited milestone – the distribution of its in-game token for the recently ended season. PRIMATE, an asset that has been expected for months by active players, dropped at the end of August. The game will distribute the payouts after each season through a claim button on its website.
Benji Bananas is an example of a P2E game taking a very conservative approach to tokenization. In fact, the game continued to exist as a free-to-play, while teasing for months on its NFT items and tokenization.
The next season for Benju Bananas will arrive with the potential for tokenized rewards and token swapping.
The launch of tokenization led to a spike in Benji Bananas players, up 189% to 39.93K in the past 24 hours. This is an all-time high player rally for Benji Bananas, starting on August 25.
The reason for the high player count is precisely the distribution of PRIMATE tokens. Until then, Benji Bananas still had a high player count, but on its free version. The game is one of the last P2E hubs to use Ethereum despite the relatively high fees.
PRIMATE Still Gaining Wallet Adoption
The token is now in 2,773 wallets, still being distributed from within the game. Subsequent seasons may bring more adoption of PRIMATE, as well as trading activity.
PRIMATE launched for initial trading in May, peaking at $0.16. Now, PRIMATE is trading at $0.016, down 90%, with limited liquidity. PRIMATE is present on Huobi Global, and has limited decentralized trading pairs. PRIMATE pays out limited earnings per season, with a special focus on limiting in-game grinding and relying on an idle game with an extra token bonus.
Benji Bananas is one of the F2P brands supported by Animoca Brands, and a sign of continued interest in Web3 additions to games.
Benji Bananas relies on Membership Pass NFT with a 0.05 ETH floor price. The game’s activity is reflected by a robust NFT market, with 2.7K ETH traded for access cards.
