Undead Blocks is reminding of a free-for-all tournament launching this August 12. The battle will be open for all, with no need to buy NFT weapons. The prize pool, spread to the top 2,000 players, will be $10,000 in ZBUX.
Previous tournaments have gathered more than 1,600 players, and this time, the gameplay may allow almost anyone to grab a part of the prize pool, with 1,000 ZBUX going to the winner.
The tournament prize is backed by Genblock Capital, an investor into some of the most promising gaming and blockchain projects. Genblock Capital is also backing a shift to Web3 approaches, and boosts other high-quality games like Heroes of Mavia.
Undead Blocks is one of the few games available for consoles, and also as a free download. As of 2022, it is one of the few AAA-grade games with complex environments to also have viable tokens. The ZBUX reward can be accrued within the game, thus onboarding all gamers even without an initial wallet connection.
Undead Blocks Tokens Remain Stable
ZBUX has utility in the game with the main mechanic of upgrading weapons. Undead Blocks relies on weapons as one of its main attraction points and publicity tools, with both a Genesis collection and new special NFT mints. The game’s community also holds informal resales and giveaways for weapons.
Despite going game-first, Undead Blocks still made 905 ETH on weapons changing hands, with a floor price of 0.15 ETH. The game is currently played without blockchain interaction, hence it is not possible to estimate the player count as with other P2E games.
UNDEAD, the game’s native token, is currently not essential but is a tool to connect the game to the crypto ecosystem. UNDEAD slid to around $0.81, after taking months to move around the $1 level. Most of the UNDEAD trading happens on the Gate.IO exchange, with another pair on Uniswap offering limited liquidity. ZBUX is priced in a more intuitive way, at $1 and to serve as an in-game payment.
