P2E and Web3 Weekly Review (January 28 – February 3, 2023)

Multiple games reached their launch in early 2023, showing there is still a queue of projects with Web3 features.

P2E games remain diverse, with new arrivals taking the top spots in terms of social media noise. Some of the older games keep up the pace, after reinventing parts of their token and GameFi aspects. Crabada is one of the games to discontinue one of its main staking mechanisms, not accepting new deposits. Axie Infinity keeps switching to item rewards, moving to Mystic rarity in the middle of the past week.

Leading Games by Number of Users

The player count on top games remains close to their usual range, with the exception of Splinterlands, which has a hiatus and its user count is more than 51% down. Top 20 games have more of a turnover, and host the newly emerged Web3 games that gained popularity in 2022. The leading games achieve success through regular small-scale challenges and regular tournaments that keep up the activity numbers.
