P2E and Web3 Game Watch: The Gaming Week in Review (November 4 – November 11, 2022)

Axie Infinity almost ended its Origins Season 1, while Alien Worlds had a successful week with a spike in player count.

Gaming continued to evolve, with some P2E games like Heroes and Empires evolving toward a Web3 approach, with a free version and optional blockchain usage and asset ownership. Games continue with special events, tournaments and prize distribution. Axie Infinity almost wrapped up its Origins Season 1, and prepares to distribute the rewards to 40K players in the leaderboards. The popularity of Axie Infinity brought multiple games with similar arena mode battles and playable, collectible NFT.

Top Events of the Week

Leading Games by Number of Users

There is still interest in top Web3 games offering fast and almost free transactions. But the projects are the ones where the gameplay is first and players can start earning without an initial NFT investment. Top games remain almost the same, with the exception of Gameta tracking. The game is now more difficult to track due to versions on Solana and BNB Chain.

P2E Token Price Action

The market cap of all P2E tokens fell sharply to $4.58B, driven down by the overall crash of the crypto market.

Most gaming assets continued to lose value, shaken down by the overall market slide. At the same time, projects that are sustainable continue to expand and offer game updates.
